On March 22nd, Governor Jim Gibbons held the 27th Annual Governor’s Arts Awards held at the Nightingale Concert Hall at the University of Nevada, Reno.
This is a joint program of the Nevada Arts Council and the Office of the Governor. Through this program, the Nevada Arts Council and the Office of the Governor recognize outstanding and enduring contributions to Nevada through artistic achievement and service to the arts. In addition this was the 40th anniversary of the Nevada Arts Council.
“All those receiving awards represent the best of what Nevada has to offer – outstanding artist and arts organizations, passionate administrators and dedicated patrons. Individually and collectively, their service to Nevada commands public recognition. They also set a standard for all of us, individually and collectively, to actively ensure that all Nevadans are provided ongoing access to the arts.”
